USMLE Lecture

Dear Students:

The Regional Director for Kaplan Medical in the Caribbean will be visiting the UWI Mona Campus on Wednesday April 13, 2011 to provide medical students with information relevant to graduate medical education opportunities in the United States (US). At this lecture, students will be advised about preparing for the USMLE examination and will be guided on how match to their first choice residency if they choose to work in the US. During the event students will also be informed about the review process for attaining licensure in the US, discuss the USMLE examination series and outline Kaplan's review options, as well as offer students special discounts on courses.

The Lecture will be held on April 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Main Medical Lecture Theater.

All students who are interested are invited to attend.

My name is Camille Davidson. I am presently a member of the University Chorale, a choral group based at the University of West Indies, Mona Campus and also a member of the 2k15 MBBS/DDS class (WOOT!). I would like to use this forum to extend an invitation to you and yours to attend this year's concert season.

The Concert Season runs from April 1-3, 2011 at the Philip Sherlock Theatre, University of the West Indies Mona. On Friday and Sunday, the admission cost is $500 for children and students with Identification Cards and $800 for adults. Saturday, is our Gala Night, the prices are $800 and $1000 respectively.

For your benefit, there are special prices and group rates for corporate entities, students and groups of persons (i.e. 5 or more).

1. JAMSA will be re-opening its nominations tomorrow Monday, March 28. The deadline will be on Friday, April 8 at 4:00 pm. Forms may be retrieved from either the Basic Medical Sciences Office or the Dean's Office or they can be printed from this email's attachment. Saturday- Anatomy

NO Anatomy Classes today Saturday March 19, 2011.

NOTICE

1) Please collect and take all RED tickets for pictures at pinning tomorrow.

2) EVERYONE please be at Assembly Hall at 1:30 or before so they can seat us. 

3) Wearing your clothes to school is your option, as long as you wear either a white coat or a bushjacket and appropriate attire whether you wear it or take it to school is still your choice.

4) Ladies we have to walk up and down stairs so be careful when choosing a shoe to wear.....high heels are not recommended (for those not used to them) but its your choice

5) We are suppose to sit on the left hand side when facing the stage. Then an entire of persons will stand TOGETHER and proceed to the stage up the LEFT STAIRS and stop at the FIRST TAPE (marked on the stage) and then once your name is called you will proceed to the SECOND TAPE on the stage to be pinned and take a photograph. It was suggested that you stand in line with the tape so that the photographer can get a good shot. 

6) If you are NOT taking a photo package picture please proceed down the CENTRE STAIRS and back to you seat along the MIDDLE walkway.

7) If you ARE taking a PHOTO PACKAGE, proceed to the other side of the stage (the right hand side - the part infront of 2k14) and down the stairs to the photo booths. Please present your red ticket and take your picture. There should be arrows that will lead you out and to the outside of assembly hall. You should then walk behind the crowd and then back to your seat.

8) It is a high definition camera that is taking the pictures so it will be value for money. 

9) Please remember that if you are taking the shuttle you to pay by 10am tomorrow the latest. 

10) Please remember that they have asked that we wear our PINNING OUTFITS to the party so there is no need to change. If you want to change, you will be charged at the gate for entry into the party. 

11) the party should end around 12 / 12:30.

12) Please be reminded that groups A & B have cell bio labs tomorrow.
