PEACE DAY

Dear you,

In conjunction with PALS (Peace and Love in Schools) Jamaica, JAMSA's newest standing committee: Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP), will be spreading the message of peace on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. The campaign, "Peace...from Start to Finish" will include a poster display along the spine of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, some 'huggers for peace' giving out some extra love around campus, and the distribution of some blue ribbons for peace awareness.

To preclinical students:
-show your support for peace in our country, and world, by wearing something blue on Tuesday.
-look out for SCORPions around your classes and around UWI with blue ribbons to distribute (and drop a donation for the ribbon if possible)

To clinical students:
-though all may not be able to wear something blue, support by getting a ribbon if you see any SCORPions distributing.

To everyone...remember peace, and peaceful behaviour, is not a one-day event. We all are charged to love one another, and out of love, find peaceful ways to resolve any conflicts.

The future of our country, and our world rests with us as future leaders!

As PALS goes out into primary and secondary schools to spread peace awareness. So, as medical students and JAMSA affiliates, we can do our part in our tertiary setting.

Looking forward to your support,

--
